Festivals

A festival has one address, for example ceol.app/sessions/oflahertys. Each year of the festival is a session under that address: oflahertys/2025, oflahertys/2026. Each year has its own venue, dates, schedule, and logs. The name and the address of the festival stay the same.

Opening the Right Year

In the week before a festival and in the month after it, the address of the festival opens this year's festival. At other times, it shows a list of all the years. The next year is first, with its dates. If the festival has only one year, the address opens that year.

On the page of a year, the name of the festival at the top links to the list of years. The menu next to the name opens a different year.

A Festival Day

The Logs tab of a festival is its schedule. The sessions are grouped by day. Each session of the festival has its own log, with its room and its time. Several sessions can be on at the same time. On the home page, each day of a festival is one card, for example "Day 2 · 8 sessions, 4 on now". The card opens the schedule.

Adding a Festival

Open Add a session and select Festival. Enter the name of the festival, without a year, and the year. Enter the first day and the last day. Ceol makes the address of the festival and its first year. You become the admin of that year.

Adding a New Year

The admins of a festival make the next year by copying the last one. On the Admin page of a year, tap Copy to a new year. Or, on the list of years, tap Add a year. The copy has the same venue, time zone, settings, and admins. The dates move to the same days of the week in the new year. The copy does not have the schedule or the logs. The new year starts with an empty schedule. You can also copy to an earlier year, to add a year that was not logged.
